Zuccardi Q Chardonnay Review
Argentinian White Wine Tasting Notes
Whilst it may be known for its Malbec, Argentina has so many more amazing bottles of wine worth your while. One of which is the Zuccardi Q Chardonnay, an Argentinian white wine from one of Mendoza’s most prestigious wine regions. Part of the Zuccardi Q range of wines (which includes Malbec and Cabernet Franc, amongst others), the Chardonnay is made from extremely carefully selected grapes from across the family’s vineyard in Mendoza, Argentina. Zuccardi Q Chardonnay, Tasting Notes
Yellow-gold in colour, the Zuccardi Q Chardonnay gave off immediate aromas of lemon, citrus and rich butter, typical of a white wine stored in oak barrels. Usually, you can expect a creamy scent and flavour when it comes to white wine with oak influence, and that was exactly the case with this Chardonnay. On the palate, the immediate flavour from the Zuccardi Q Chardonnay was butter. But that was quickly balanced with sharp acidity. The Chardonnay is dry, medium-bodied and packed with citrus freshness, making it a lovely pairing for fish. But the buttery creaminess adds a little rich texture to the wine, so I could see it balancing out and working perfectly with a creamy sauce as well. If I had to choose a dream food pairing for the Zuccardi Q Chardonnay, it’d be a creamy fish pasta for sure.
