Three Spirit Drinks Review
Exploring the alcohol-free botanical range – from the citrus-led Livener to the warming Nightcap.
Not every alcohol-free drink is trying to replace gin or whisky. Three Spirit Drinks has taken a different approach, creating a range of botanical blends that stand on their own rather than imitating traditional spirits.
The Three Spirit range features three signature bottles: Livener, Social Elixir and Nightcap. Each one offers a completely different drinking experience, from bright and citrus-led flavours to richer, more warming botanical notes. Designed around flavour, plants and modern drinking rituals, these alcohol-free spirits are created to be enjoyed in their own right.
About Three Spirits Drinks
Three Spirit Drinks is a UK-based alcohol-free drinks brand creating botanical blends designed to offer a different kind of drinking experience. Rather than recreating traditional spirits, the brand focuses on combining plants, herbs and natural ingredients to create distinctive flavours for modern drinking.
The range is vegan and plant-based, with a focus on sustainability through choices such as recyclable packaging. Since launching, Three Spirit has become one of the more recognisable names in the alcohol-free drinks category, appealing to those looking for flavour-led alternatives to traditional spirits.

Three Spirit Drinks: The Core Range
The Three Spirits Drinks core range consists of three main drinks: the Livener, the Social Elixir and the Nightcap. From the names alone, you can get a pretty good sense of what the flavours of them might be, but I’ll go into detail about them all in a second. Each of the spirits is plant-based and was developed in partnership with UCL School of Pharmacy plant scientist Professor Michael Heinrich, along with herbalists and world-class bartenders. The result is a range of unique alcohol-free drinks that can be mixed into delicious cocktails to create amazing complex flavours.
The Core Range: Social Elixir
Kicking off the range, we’ve got the Social Elixir (I think we can all get on board with anything described as “social”…especially in these current times). Made using lion’s mane mushrooms (check out the health benefits of them here), damiana and yerba mate (both are types of herb), the Social Elixir is described by Three Spirit Drinks as a “mood booster” and promises to “elevate evenings and lift spirits”. Sold. The first thing I noticed when trying the Social Elixir was the initial buzz that you get from it. It’s really not dissimilar to the ‘first sip feeling’ you get from a cocktail, and it instantly gives you that party feeling. As for the drink itself, it’s almost like syrup in its texture and has a lovely red colour to it. It’s full of really vibrant flavour and a slightly bittersweet taste.

The Core Range: Livener
Next up is the Livener which is a bright and vibrant spirit made from guayusa (a type of holly tree), guava leaf and schisandra (a fruit plant). Three Spirit Drinks describe this one as ‘invigorating’ and the “perfect party pick-me-up”. The flavour from this spirit was super tangy and fresh with a little bit of fieriness to it too, with a little sweetness at the end.
The Core Range: Nightcap
Finishing off the range, and the evening too, we’ve got the Nightcap. Made from tree saps and aromatic plants, the Nightcap is the perfect spirit to sip on during quiet evenings at home. With other ingredients being lemon balm and hops, the Nightcap’s ingredients create a feeling of calmness and have even been shown to reduce anxiety. Despite not being one of the main ingredients in the drink, for me the overwhelming taste in the Nightcap is ginger. So, if you’re not the biggest fan of that, then I apologise! I, on the other hand, am a massive fan of the plant, so a gingery spirit is 100% up my street. On the nose, it was incredibly herbal. At first, I wasn’t so sure about the scent but I think it just took a second to adjust to the strength of the flavour, and once you were familiar with it, it was delicious.

Three Spirit Drinks: Final thoughts
Overall, it was most definitely another win for the low and no alcohol scene. Three Spirits Drinks are by far the most unique set of alcohol-free spirits that I’ve tried, and at no point did it feel like I was drinking an alcohol-free alternative to a gin, whiskey, rum etc. Their spirits are completely unique in flavour and I think that’s what makes them stand out so much in the alcohol-free market. They aren’t trying to offer an alcohol-free version of our favourite spirits. Instead, they’re delivering something completely original.

These sound like lovely alcoholic drinks, I honestly don’t mind drinking non alcoholic drinks, they taste just as good as alcoholic ones for me! x

Glad you like the sound of them Lucy! I think the alcohol-free scene is only getting bigger and better so the options are amazing right now π x
I really love how companies are starting to make more non-alcoholic spirits! Youβve provided a great description of each one and I really hope that I will eventually be able to find them here in Canada. Thanks for sharing!
It’s brilliant to see the low and no alcohol drinks scene growing isn’t it! So glad you like the sound of them π x
Love that Three Spirits believes in celebrating what makes a drink, as opposed to what is missing. Instead of offering an alternative, they offer something that is enjoyed on its own. I thought I would be a Social kind of gal, but the Livener and Nightcap both sound perfect to me, with their diverse and unique flavor combinations and spice.
Thanks for sharing!
It’s a great way of thinking! All three are really delicious but i think my favourite is the social elixir at the moment. I’ll have to try out some more mocktails and get back to you though haha x
The Nightcap sounds lovely. I’ll have to keep my eye out for it.
It’s such a great evening sipper! π x
Livener is definitely something I’d try! I absolutely adore sweet aftertaste! Thanks for sharing, Faye xx

I would totally try out these drinks. I donβt drink and I like that their are more alternatives being made.
Glad you like the sound of them! I agreed – it’s great to see more alcohol free options popping up π x
The flavours of these sound SO interesting, the production is fascinating too. I’m not the biggest ginger fan so I’d skip on the last one but the other two both sound lovely, and I really miss that first sip experience you mentioned, so social is sounding really good right now x
They’re so unique aren’t they! The Social Elixir has been my go-to for a mid-week treat recently – it’s so good π x
This is great for people who don’t drink alcohol like me! I feel like there are more and more options out there so it’s great! Thanks for sharing!

Ooooo I need booze free at the moment while I’m pregnant and I’ve been struggling on what to get for something a little different. These sound fab! Xx
They’re all really unique flavours but still manage to be able to be mixed into alcohol-free versions of classic cocktails easily! π x
Three Spirit definitely sounds like one for me to look out for the next time I go shopping! Love the sound of how unique they are too. Great review.
They’re so unlike anything else I’ve seen in the alcohol-free drinks scene! Glad you like the sound of their range π x
This is such a good post! Your descriptions are excellent. I do not drink alcohol so I am thrilled that you included non-alcoholic drinks and that this market seems to be expanding. Thanks for sharing! I will certainly be checking these drinks out.
Thank you so much! There are so many brilliant alcohol-free options popping up and they’re really delicious too π x
These sound fantastic and I love the brand ethos that alcohol free doesn’t mean pleasure free! I love the packaging too π
So glad you like the sound of the range! Agreed – it’s such a brilliant ethos π x
At different points of the month I go alcohol free. I rarely drink alcohol but I find having two ish weeks off gives me a good healthy detox for the month. I’ve found a few nice non-alcoholic drinks but these sound really tasty and really something for everyone!
Rosie
Ooh that’s so interesting! There are some really great alcohol-free options out there but I haven’t managed to find anything similar to Three Spirits – their drinks are so good π x
They’ve gone out on the packaging and the names! These have already done it for me.
But Livener has caught my interest both the name and the review of it! And none alcoholic means any kicks you get are natural!
They’re lovely bottles aren’t they! So happy to hear that you like the sound of the range π x
Working in food, I had seen these around before but never got around to try them – now I am going to look for them as I can’t wait to mix them for a virgin cocktail!
I hope you enjoy experimenting with some mocktails! π x
Interesting drinks. I should invest in some non-alcoholic drink to make mock tails too. Thanks for the recommendation!
Their range is so unique (and delicious!). Happy to help π x
These drinks all sound so so lovely! A really brilliant review to read, I’d love to try them x
