A whiskey sour has been one of my go-to cocktails for years. I think it was actually the first cocktail that I ever learned how to make back in my late teens. It became a bit of a signature drink for me, so I thought maybe it could be a crowd pleaser for you as well.
A typical whiskey sour is usually made with egg whites, however my sans-egg version is a lot less fiddly! (and still delicious if I do say so myself).ย It only uses three key ingredients so if you’re looking to try your hand at mixology this could be the perfect drink to start with.
Ingredients
Double shot bourbon
(my go-to is Jack Daniels)
Double shot sugar syrup
Double shot lime juice
(the number of limes you use will vary on how ripe they are, normally 1-2 limes)
Crushed ice
Cocktail glass and shaker
Method
Take your cocktail glass and fill it with crushed ice (this is just to chill it)
Fill your cocktail shaker about two thirds of the way with crushed ice
Add your double shots of bourbon, sugar syrup and lime juice
Pop the lid on and shake until mixed
Pour the ice out of your cocktail glass and take the lid off your shaker
Strain the mixed drink into your cocktail glass
