April is here, Spring has sprung! A new month means it’s time for a bit of outfit inspiration. You might have seen over on my Instagram that I shared a little sneak peek of this look a few days back. I’ve previously written about What I Wore in Seville and a University OOTD but this time my style snap focuses on day off wear.
The Day Off Look
I wore this look last Thursday when I popped into town for a beauty event at Clinique. Going into the store, I wasn’t sure as to whether or not it was going to be an event with other bloggers or a consultation for myself. So I though it’d be best to dress up a bit in case a FINALLY got to meet some fellow bloggers. Unfortunately when I arrived it was just me who had signed up for that day. It was the weekend events that had others coming (understandably of course!). Although I didn’t get to meet any other bloggers I still felt pretty bloody great in my outfit…and I thought it was worth sharing with you.
Starting with my outerwear, my & Other Stories coat takes centre stage. Ever since I bought it back in the Christmas holidays it’s been a huge style staple in my wardrobe. It’s the perfect throw-on piece for almost all-year round. I’ve definitely been getting my wear out of it, that’s for sure!
As always my jewellery from Malaga has to make a feature! My silver hoops always manage to make me feel dressed up and put together. Even more so when they’re paired with a statement ring! I felt as though the silver of the jewellery worked well with the pale pink shade of my blouse.
You might recognise my beige trousers from one of my previous style snap posts as they’re a favourite of mine to style up. They’re so incredibly versatile and easy to dress up or down. What really made this whole look for me was the added bonus of getting my makeup done at Clinique. If I’m completely honest I don’t wear much, if any, makeup in my daily life. I’ll save it for special occasions or nights out. There was something so exciting about having my makeup done for a simple day in town that made me feel extra amazing in my outfit. The event was for their new Clinique ID moisturiser and I got a chance to try it out along with plenty of their other products!
Of course me being me I forgot to take any nice images of my makeup so I’m left with a few silly ones instead. Can we take a moment to appreciate how gorgeous the Clinique makeup is though! (…even with my funny faces)
A Little Shop Around
After my mini makeover of course I had to go and hit the shops! Over the last few weeks, or maybe even months, I really haven’t done much shopping. I think it reached a point where the weather was so same-y that I just didn’t need anything new. But with the recent shift in weather it was time for a little browse. A new pair of jeans had been on my mind for a while. I even tweeted about needing recommendations for where to buy jeans. There were so many suggestions but I ended up going with Levi’s. I always think it’s better to invest in something for the long run. So the slightly higher price of Levi’s didn’t deter me.
The Jeans of My Dreams
Thursday afternoon, I popped into the store and had a browse around. I came across two completely different pairs of jeans that caught my eye. A black skinny and a blue straight leg. Levi’s are a brand of jeans that I hadn’t worn in years so I didn’t know what to expect when I went into the changing room. Trying on the black skinny jeans I quickly realised that Levi’s skinny jeans were NOT for me. They just felt a little too skinny and restrictive for me. Although that could have just been that one particular style.
Moving onto the second pair I was feeling sceptical. This however changed as soon as I slipped them on. Despite being considered a straight leg jean, they felt more like my ideal version of a skinny jean. High-waisted, ankle-grazing and a tight-to-the-leg fit. These were pretty much my dream jeans. And with a 20% student discount were a must buy! I can definitely see these becoming my go-to jeans for the Spring.
