My Plans for the Christmas Holidays

This year is the first year that I don’t have an essay to write over the Christmas holidays. Since I started university, Christmas has always been a time of stressing over deadlines. No matter how much I wanted to enjoy the holidays, in the back of my mind I was always thinking about the work that I needed to get done. This year, however, I’ve already handed in my dissertation. Which means that I can finally enjoy an essay-free Christmas. With so much extra time to relax and feel festive, I’ve put together a list of what I’m hoping to do over the holidays.

Read Something Other Than Course Material

Having time to read for fun when you’re in university can actually be a lot more difficult than you might think. When it comes to writing essays and getting work done, there are so many course-related books that you need to read. If you’re spending your time reading course material then finding time to read for fun can be hard. I’m sure other students will agree that when you’re reading for your degree the last thing you want to be doing is reading even more to try and relax. If I’m reading for my degree all day, my idea of relaxing isn’t more reading in the evening. That being said, I do love reading for fun. I brought a few books home with me over the holidays and I’m hoping to spend some time getting stuck into them!

Work My Way Through My List on Netflix

My list of TV shows and films on Netflix is growing and growing every single day. I’m constantly adding to it but never actually getting around to watching anything that’s on there! So, during my month away from university I’m making sure to shorten the list and watch some great TV. What better time to do it than over the Christmas holidays?

Get Back on Track With My Workouts

As I mentioned in my Winter Morning Routine post I love getting back into running when I’m home from university. I started up again last week and oh wow it was a struggle but I’m already starting to improve after just a few workouts. It’s so easy to avoid workouts during the Winter, particularly at Christmas. I’m definitely in agreement that staying in and eating mince pies is a lot more fun than exercising. However, I know I’ll feel guilty if I don’t at least try to workout.

What are your plans for Christmas? Let me know so I can have some more holiday plan inspiration!

I started my Christmas vacation with ice skating. Boy, that was an experience! I will also be catching up on reading and spending time with my family.

My Christmas break is going to consist of sleep, Netflix, Youtube, reading, and spending time with friends. This semester I hardly ever socialised, and I really feel like I actually need to! Enjoy your rest & relaxation x

I can relate to this so much, I have an exam in January so unfortunately I’ve had to fit revision in to my Christmas plans. I still managed to have a good time though. Hope you had a good Christmas!
