Happy Friday everyone! (w o w I’m feeling very “blogger” today and I’m so okay with it!) As I’m sat editing this on a Thursday evening I’m feeling in the Friday mood already and hopefully you are as well – no matter what day you happen to be reading this on. This month has been another chilled yet exciting one and I’m so excited to share some of my August monthly favourites with you all! If you haven’t seen last months favourites then go check them out here for some mega inspiration and fabulous recommendations from yours truly.
Let me just start by saying that August has been THE month of Netflix for me. I don’t know what it is but I’ve suddenly started watching so much Netflix that I don’t even know I’m choosing a favourite TV show for the month. Although I’ve started watching plenty of TV shows, there’s only one that I managed to watch the entirety of this month and that is The Rain. From what I understand it isn’t a completely new series but it’s one that I’ve loved this August. Basically it follows two siblings after a disease that is transferred through rain kills off almost the entire population. There’s only eight episodes in the series so it’s incredibly binge-watchable and one to add to your Netflix list.
I think it’s pretty obvious what film I’m going to go with for this month. If you’ve seen any of my tweets then you’ll know that I have been completely obsessed with this film (as so many others have been too!). You’ve probably guess it… it’s To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. I imagine that this film is going to be in so many favourites for this month but it deserves to be! It follows the story of 16 year old Lara Jean who, when she has a crush on someone, will write letters to each of her crushes and store them in a box. When the letters mysteriously get sent out to each of her crushes things take a bit of a turn… I don’t want to spoil it for you so go and watch it for yourself!
Track: The Way I Am, Charlie Puth
I’m not exactly sure when I became a low-key Charlie Puth mega fan but I did. I think I’ve probably listened to this song about 3 times a day for the last two weeks so it’d only make sense for it to be my August track! If you haven’t heard it already then where have you been?! Get on it now, it could be your new anthem.
Album: Well…actually it’s a playlist this month.
Once again I’ve struggled to choose an album for my favourites. I’ve been listening to individual songs and playlists all month so I haven’t had a chance to sit down and listen to a whole album. If you’ve read my A Journey Through My Music Taste blog post you’ll know that I’m a huge fan of 70s music. So, when I stumbled across a playlist called 70s Workout I knew it’d be full of absolutely bangers. And I was 100% correct in my assumption. If you don’t know too much about 70s music then this could be a really great playlist to introduce you to the decades best songs!
I’m going to have to go with Steph from Steph Loves who’s just been incredibly lovely and supportive this month, especially on Twitter. It’s always nice to have bloggers who are active and engaging on my timeline. Steph pretty much sums this up for me. Her blog is full of amazing posts, from book reviews to interview tips and is definitely one to check out if you’re looking for new bloggers to read!
This months favourite blog post comes from the lovely Asher of Come and Read with Me. I absolutely loved her post Should I Start A Blog? because I think it shares a lot of thoughts that many bloggers had before they started their own blogs. Myself included! There’s definitely a little bit of fear when it comes to first starting a blog. But that shouldn’t stop you from trying. If you’re thinking of starting a blog then go and have a little browse of her post. It might just give you the push you need to start.
To be completely honest I haven’t really been doing much cooking over the last month. I’ve spent a lot of time getting into my health and fitness so my recipes haven’t been that exciting at all. Although, I have been on holiday this month so I thought I’d share a few of my favourite meals from my trip instead!
I’m going with a classic for this month and saying florals. I think a lot of people often see florals as a spring/summer trend but for me I think they work so well in the Autumn. I know we aren’t quite in Autumn yet but I’m just too excited. Layering up dresses with tights and boots is one of my favourite looks. Especially throwing a jumper over the top of them.
Of course this one had to be my 21st birthday! I’m sure most of you already know that I took a trip to Malaga to celebrate my 21st. Having a birthday in the middle of the summer always makes it difficult to organise anything because everyone is always away on holiday. I’m not someone who likes a big celebration on my birthday. I much prefer a relaxed celebration with my close family so I thought why not head off on holiday with my family. If everyone else always seemed to be away on my birthday then I might as well do it myself! I’m thinking of doing a post or two about my holiday so let me know if that’s something you’d be interested in reading.
…here’s me just enjoying a cheeky little cherry beer
As always thanks for reading! Let me know your favourite moments of the month and your thoughts on mine. I’d love to read through them all.
