This months TV obsession has been the new Netflix show Amazing Interiors. I’ve always been a huge fan of any kind of home improvement programme so when I saw that Netflix had a new interior design based show out I just HAD to watch it. The programme follows three different homes in each episode that are all unique for their interiors. There’s such a huge variety of designs inside them all; from slick, modern design to diamond encrusted surfaces. There’s something extravagant about them all. At only 25 minutes an episode it’s the perfect easy-to-watch and binge-able show.
I’d heard a lot about this film and seen it advertised on Netflix a few times so I decided to give it a go and watch it. I’m such a huge fan of a romance film so when I saw that Set it Up was in fact a romantic comedy I had to watch it. It follows the story of two assistants as they try to set up their bosses together to try and get some much-needed free time from work for themselves. I think what makes this film so great is that it has the romance factor but without the overly cheesy elements that can often feature in your usual rom-com. Don’t get me wrong I’m all for the cheesy, lovey-dovey romance film but it was refreshing to watch something different. If you aren’t a typical rom-com lover then definitely give this a go because you’ll be pleasantly surprised!
Track: Lost in Japan, Shawn Mendes
Okay, so I’m completely obsessed with this track. It’s just so jazzy and has me wanting to get up and boogie every time I listen to it. I don’t really know what else to say other than I’m in love with this song to be honest!
Album: God’s Favorite Customer, Father John Misty
This was a difficult one because at the moment I haven’t really been listening to albums as a whole. I’ve mostly just been listening to my Summer playlist on loop and getting ready for my holidays. Although, that being said I have listened to a few new albums over the last couple of months so even though this album isn’t new this month, it’s still fairly new. July’s album shout-out goes to Father John Misty’s God’s Favorite Customer. My favourites on the album are Just Dumb Enough to Try and Mr. Tillman. If you haven’t listened to him before then go do it now!
If you’ve been reading Female Original for a while you’ll know that I’m a massive foodie. Most of my recipes are vegetarian despite me not actually being a vegetarian myself. So, when I came across Fork and Veg a few months back I was obsessed with all the amazing veg-based recipes featured on it! Fork and Veg isn’t just a food blog either, there’s also some really amazing posts that focus on cruelty-free products as well as lifestyle pieces too. If you’re looking for a new blog to check out then head over to Fork and Veg now for some amazing content and crazy beautiful photography!
My Beetroot and Feta Tart has been such a staple for this time of year. I love keeping my meals quite light in the warmer weather, and with the UK having heated up over the last month or so I’ve been cooking this recipe more than a few times! Served alongside a salad, this is the perfect vegetarian recipe for the Summer and one worth trying for sure!
This is definitely not a new trend by any means but it’s been a favourite of mine for a while: trainers and dresses. If you’ve read my blog post about the 5 Summer Dresses That You NEED then you’ll know I’m a huge fan of trainers with my dresses. I think it’s a perfect look for when you’re travelling abroad and have a lot of walking and exploring to do. I like to feel dressed up but still comfortable and I think the trainers allow me to achieve this so easily!
Once again I’ve had some really great moments this month. It’s difficult to choose one in particular but for the sake of this post I simply have to! I think my favourite moment would be moving into my final year student house. It’s always super exciting moving into a new place when you’re in university (even if they are all a little bit grim – it’s student accommodation after all!). Plus, the fact that I know that this is my last year of university just added to the excitement!
