Reaching my first year anniversary of starting my blog has made me reflect on my journey so far. Something that I know I do a lot with my blog is keep myself pretty secret. I don’t share photos of myself on my blog, I don’t share more personal blog posts and I don’t regularly post about my hometown or give specific locations. While I’m still figuring out what I want my blog to be, I think this is just something that I like to keep to myself for now.
I imagine when I finish university next year and start to take my blog more seriously (well I hope to anyway!) I’ll start to share more of myself on my blog. However, for now I like that bit of mystery haha. Anyway, with this in mind I thought I’d share a little bit of information with you all and do a Bit-of-Everything Q&A. You might already know this from reading my blog before but in the past I’ve done a Q&A already. Although, it’s been a year since I first started blogging so I thought an update might be a bit of fun and a way for you to get to know me a bit more!
What is one quote you live by?
I’m not sure if this is an actual quote but I love “you’ll only regret the things you don’t do and not the things you did”. I wish I could say that I live by that quote more so than I actually do but I’m quite a cautious person. Learning to just go for some things rather than regret not doing them is something that I am constantly working on doing. However, I do feel like recently I have gotten better at not being so cautious! Although, at the same time another good quote is “it’s better to be safe than sorry” so it’s all about finding the middle ground haha!
What has been the most difficult part of your blogging journey?
I think focusing too much on stats has been the most difficult part of blogging so far. It can be really disheartening when your stats are going through a phase of being consistently low, especially when so many other bloggers are killing it! However, it’s important to praise the success of others and not let a brief slump in stats get you down. Blogging takes a lot of work – especially when it comes to just getting people to actually read your blog posts! Without constant promotion on Twitter etc. I probably wouldn’t have anyone reading my posts but that’s just part of blogging.
What is your biggest phobia?
Probably my fear of dogs to be honest! It’s really weird because I find dogs so cute and can appreciate an adorable dog when I see one but at the same time I’m just like can you please get this dog away from me whenever I’m near one. I’m not even sure what sparked my fear of dogs because I’ve never had a bad experience with one. I think it might just be how jumpy they are which scares me. It’s so annoying being scared of them thought because so many people adore dogs so I get judged sometimes for not being a big fan of them! (sorry dog lovers)
What inspired you to start blogging?
I answered a similar question to this in my previous Q&A but to be honest there wasn’t a sudden inspiration for me to start at all. I’d never been someone who’d seen a blogger and thought oh wow I NEED to do this!. My inspiration came from previous attempts at blogging. Before Female Original I had a food blog account which I used as more of an online recipe book for my own personal use, and if anyone else happened to stumble across my recipes it might be interesting to them! I think after this more relaxed approach to blogging I thought, why not give the real thing a go? and decided to start my own blog which is when Female Original was created.
What is your favourite budget shop?
This is probably a really weird answer but TK Maxx! I always find so many absolute bargains in their, particularly when it comes to sportswear. The range of socks that they have there is also a big drawing point for me. I’m someone who loves a good exciting pair of socks and TK Maxx never disappoints in that department!
Use three words that you think perfectly describe you.
Creative. Relaxed. Fun…hopefully!
What are your goals for the future?
My goals for the next year or so are to graduate from university and find myself a graduate job (shouldn’t be too difficult…..ha, more like the impossible task). With regards to my blog I’d love to be able to carry on with it and continue to develop my blog as a whole. I think it’d be really lovely to have a group of blogging friends to meet up with and support each others journeys. If I could manage that it’d be amazing!
If you could have one superpower, which one would it be and why?
Hmm this is a difficult one! I’d probably have to go with teleportation though. I just think it’d be so handy to be able to travel anywhere in a few seconds and also imagine all the money I’d save on transport haha! Also if I ever forgot anything I could just teleport home and get it which would be sooo useful.
Thanks for reading and thank you to everyone on Twitter who sent in a question for this post! Comment below anything that you want to see next on Female Original. Do you have a specific topic you’d like me to post about? Write it below!
