What I’m NOT Changing in 2018

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you’ve all had an amazing 2017 and if not here’s to the start of a hopefully great 2018.

The New Year is usually a time where everyone thinks about all the things they want to change about their lives and make themselves a list of resolutions. The overindulgence of the festive season makes a lot of us start to analyse ourselves and all the things we desperately need to change (I’m definitely guilty of this) But, after having made myself lists and lists of resolutions over the last 7 or so years I thought to myself why not think about all the things I love about how I am right now instead? What are the things that I’m NOT going to change this year?

Obviously there are a few things I’d like to change this year but I wanted to focus on the things that I love about myself and start this year off with a bit of positivity!

Anyway, here’s my little list of the things I’m not changing this year. Maybe I could inspire some of you to do the same thing!

1. My self confidence

I’m very much someone who’s fairly confident in themselves; I’m super independent and have been for as long as I can remember (I think that’s why some people have told me they find me intimidating) and I don’t want that to change ever!

2. My unique sense of style

Something that you probably don’t know about me (because there’s legit no pictures of me on my own blog) is that I’m actually really into fashion. By fashion I don’t mean big brands and labels I just mean putting together outfits that I love and feel reflect who I am. I’m one of those people that’ll wear things that my friends would say “omg I could never pull off something like that” to. But honestly, you CAN pull off anything. Whack it on yourself and you’re pulling it off!

3. My diet

I never want to restrict myself when it comes to food because I have such a huge passion for food and cooking! Yes, I overindulge every now and then but doesn’t everyone?! Food is such a huge part of my life and I love really great quality meals so I’m not going to put myself on a strict diet in the new year in order to get that “dream body”. I’m going to just do what I do and enjoy it!

4. My humour

I honestly think I’m hilarious (incase you haven’t gathered by my Tweets so far) and I can always find humour in everything. I want it to stay that way in the new year. To me, being able to laugh at yourself and not take yourself too seriously is the best way to be!

5. My blog

My plan for 2018 is to just continue to write about what I know. I guess in some ways it might change e.g layout, going self-hosted (hopefully!), adding more content etc. but at the same time I have no intention of suddenly becoming someone I’m not – I write about what I know and am experiencing myself and that isn’t changing anytime soon!

Thanks for reading! Hopefully you enjoyed my thoughts on the New Year and are possibly feeling inspired to give this a go yourself.

If you do choose to write a post about the things you aren’t changing this year then be sure to tag me in them so I can have a read!!

This is awesome that you have recognized your best qualities/habits and don’t want to change them. Own it! XOXO.

Hahaha I actually used to be super shy until I was about 18 so it’s so weird people thinking I’m confident now!! 😂I’m glad you enjoyed reading it! Xx
