There’s only a few days left until Christmas and I honestly can’t believe it – I feel like I’m not in the festive mood at all! I always get in the festive spirit at the beginning of December but then my excitement fades throughout the month (probably because of how incredibly busy everywhere is and how stressful getting everything ready is!). Despite all the stress, it is lovely getting everyone together for the holidays and I’m hoping that writing this post will start to make me feel a little bit more Christmassy.
I don’t know about any of you but I always struggle with what to ask for when it comes to Christmastime, especially now that I’m a student because I mostly appreciate money around this time of year. That being said, I’ve made a small list of items and thought I’d share them with you in case any of you struggle thinking of gifts to ask for as well!
A new backpack
I’ve been in serious need of a new backpack for a little while now, since my current one is starting to come apart at the seams. I’ve had it for almost four years so I’ve definitely gotten my use out of it! Being an art student, I have to bring A LOT of things to university with me for studio days; my laptop, sketchbooks, sketching equipment and any other weird art materials that I might need depending on what kind of art I’m making at the time. So, with this in mind I need a large, sturdy backpack – which is where one of my favourite brands comes in handy, Dr Martens.
Anyone who knows me will know that I’m low-key OBSESSED with Dr Martens (I even have a pair of sandals of theirs) and I’ve wanted one of their backpacks ever since I started to notice my current bag was getting a bit scuffed up. The bag that I asked for was the Large Kiev Backpack in Black (image below) simply because I knew it would go with absolutely everything I owned and is just an overall gorgeous backpack.
This specific backpack is out of stock online but here is a similar one for anyone looking for a new backpack to invest in.
With the bag being such a large gift in my opinion, the rest of the gifts on my list are more “stocking fillers” than main gifts. I absolutely love pyjamas that double as lounge-wear, especially around this time of year, because I spend a lot of time at home having to write essays for university and just relaxing around the house. I feel like you really can’t go wrong with a lovely pair of pyjamas and I often get mine from supermarkets! Tesco and ASDA always have amazing pyjamas that’re so soft and really reasonably priced, so you definitely can’t go wrong with a pair from their.
Bath Bombs/Face Masks
Pretty much anything from LUSH is a classic gift that everyone appreciates (I know I do anyway!) and I’m a huge lover of their mask of magnaminty and their Avobath bath bombs. Unpopular opinion: I HATE glitter bath bombs. I just think they make your bath all messy afterwards and really don’t understand the appeal (sorry not sorry). I always go for a simple bath bomb which isn’t too sweet in scent so the Avobath bath bomb is the winner in my eyes.
I know I’m not alone in suffering from slight dry hands during the cold, winter months which is where a really lovely, luxury hand cream comes to use. I’m a huge fan of the L’occitane hand creams, particularly their travel-sized products because I can just slip them in my handbag and bring them with me wherever I go.
Anyway, that’s what I’m asking for this year! Hopefully I might’ve helped a few of you out with some stocking fillers for this Christmas to ask for yourself or maybe to buy for your friends/family. Let me know what you’re asking for in the comments below and don’t forget to check out my Christmas Party Playlist to get you a little bit more into the Christmas spirit!
