First of all I’d just like to say thank you to Laurie and Andrea for the nominations! I really appreciate the fact that you thought of me. I love how bloggers have an award system of their own – it’s just the cutest thing ever how supportive everyone that I’ve connected with through blogging so far are! You guys are amazing.
Here are The Official Rules Of The Liebster Award
Write a blog post about the Liebster award in which you:
- Thank the person who nominated you, and post a link to their blog on your blog.
- Display the award on your blog — by including it in your post and/or displaying it using a “widget” or a “gadget”.
- Answer 11 questions about yourself, which will be provided to you by the person who nominated you.
- Provide 11 random facts about yourself.
- Nominate 5 – 11 blogs that you feel deserve the award, who have a less than 1000 followers.
- Create a new list of questions for the blogger to answer.
- List these rules in your post
- Inform the people/blogs that you nominated that they have been nominated for the Liebster award and provide a link for them to your post so that they can learn about it
Since I was nominated twice I’ve got twice as many questions to answer so you’re probably in for a pretty long post (sorry, not sorry).
My first nomination came from Andrea from Glitzy Glam Blog and she asked:
1/ Are there any other bloggers who inspire you?
I don’t have a super famous blogger that inspires me like Zoella or anything, I just decided to start blogging with no inspiration in mind to be honest! Although, that being said, all of the fabulous bloggers that I’ve met through social media inspire me now that I’ve started blogging. It’s so amazing to see so many lovely people doing what they love and working hard at it to succeed and help others.
2/ What one thing do you love about blogging?
I love sharing my advice and tips with people and being able to help anyone out where I can. Giving advice about university life is by far one of my absolute favourite parts of blogging because university is a really short part of your life and I want everyone to make the most of it because it’s such a privilege to get to experience it!
3/ If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
I honestly have no clue! I feel like I haven’t really travelled the world enough to know exactly where I’d want to live. If I had to choose anywhere in the UK it’d definitely be London because I’m such a city girl that I get bored in small towns super quickly. I’ve always wanted to travel to Australia (particularly Melbourne) and also thought about maybe living in San Sebastián, Spain for some of my life since I studied Spanish at A-Level back in school and absolutely adore San Sebastián as a city.
4/ What is the best advice anyone has ever given you?
I feel like this should’ve been a really easy question to answer but I actually really struggled to think of something. Something that has stuck with me is to watch what you say to people in your messages. This might seem a bit vague but it’s something that I think is really important to keep in mind. Some people will use what you say against you and trick you into saying things that you don’t mean. This sort of advice was definitely useful back when i was in school and there was daily drama (you know how it is). You might get caught up in the moment and send a message that maybe you didn’t mean to someone who you think is your friend but they might go and turn that against you. Just watch what you’re saying because you never know when someone might turn on you – there are a lot of fake people out there.
5/ What is your biggest pet peeve?
This is probably a really weird one but it really bothers me when people put artificial light on in a room when there’s daylight coming through the window. I probably seem really strange saying that… but it’s so annoying! There’s no need for the artificial light when it’s daytime I just don’t get it!!
6/ What are the three things you cannot live without?
- Music: I’m constantly making playlists for every occasion (like you didn’t already know – I have a full series on my banging tunes xo) and I just love the way music makes me feel. There’s so many great genres to explore so I’m always finding new music for every moment of my life.
- My laptop: (lol I sound like a typical blogger already) I’m actually really annoyed by how true this is but I can’t deny the fact that I feel totally lost without my laptop. My entire life is on it; from university work to family pictures.
- My friends/family (obviously): Where would we be without them?.. do I even need to say anything else.
7/ What is your greatest accomplishment?
*Suddenly realises I’ve accomplished nothing spectacular* I mean, honestly, I’m 20 years old and at university so I haven’t really done anything mind blowing yet (unless passing first year counts). Obviously things like music exams, school results etc are “great accomplishments” but I wouldn’t really count them to be honest. I’ll update you when I finally do something great.
8/ What’s the last book you read and really loved?
Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. I completely fell in love with this book when I read it this summer. It was so beautifully written and was also based around students my own age, making it more relatable to myself. I love coming-of-age style books where the characters are my own age because I feel like I really connect with them, that’s why; up until I read Norwegian Wood, the Catcher in the Rye was my absolute favourite book.
9/ What is the most embarrassing moment of your life?
Breaking my wrist on my first ever social at university lol. But that’s a story for another time…Comment below if you want me to post the full story!
10/ Who has influenced you the most in your life?
I always struggle with this question and I posted about it in my Unique Blogger Award post here. But I pretty much feel as though everyone important to me influences me constantly but at the same time I’m my own biggest inspiration and influence if that makes sense? I definitely feel as though we should all be inspiring ourselves in our daily life and not comparing ourselves to anyone but us. It takes a long time to start to feel super confident in yourself but it is definitely achievable! I’m starting to get there now and I’m so glad to only be 20 years old and be at a point where I love being myself.
11/ What is the one thing you want to experience before you die?
JUST ONE THING?!? That’s so hard! Probably to travel to some amazing places with the people that I love. That isn’t really that extravagant…but I’m a bit of a realist so I can’t help it.
Here are my answers to the questions from my second nomination which was Laurie from Label NV:
There was a slight overlap between the two nominations with two of the questions which were: If you could move to any Country in the World, where would you go? and Who is your role model? Which I’ve answered above. Here are the rest of the questions with my answers!
1/ If you were given 1 million pounds, what would be the first thing you’d buy and why?
I feel so boring saying this but I’d probably just pay off my student debt and bank the rest ahaha. If I had to actually buy something though I’d probably get myself an apartment in London because who wouldn’t want that? Then again, I don’t think a million pounds would get me that great a place in London to be honest.
2/ Where do you find inspiration for your blog posts?
Just from my general life experiences! I post a lot about university life because that’s the main aspect of my life for at least the next two years. I always think that it’s best to blog about what you know and not what you think will get you attention. As much as I wish I could post cute makeup looks and hair tutorials, I know absolutely nothing about it so there’s no point in me trying because it won’t end up being any fun for me.
3/ If you had to listen to one song on repeat for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
Okay this is the hardest question ever. I’m just going to go with the first song that came to my head which was How Can You Mend A Broken Heart by Al Green. It’s such a lovely, chilled song that I think works for so many moments in your life – plus it reminds me of one of my favourite films ever; Love Actually.
4/ Which season is your favourite?
Autumn (basic white girl moment). But seriously, all of my clothes are autumnal so I always look forward to autumn because I can really experiment with my fashion. Also, in the UK we don’t exactly get a Summer but we always get a great Autumn.
5/ Have you ever wanted to stop blogging or restart your current blog?
I’ve only been blogging for two months so I’m way too excited about where my blog is going to go to even thinking about stopping it. I’ve had a blog or two in the past that I never really put any effort into but this one feels different. I think it’s because I know who I am as a person that I’m thinking this one will stay.
6/ What three words would you use to describe yourself?
Creative, Relaxed and Fun (hopefully)
7/ If you could only save one item from a house fire, what would it be?
My Belle (from Beauty and the Beast) music box from a trip to Paris when I was six.
8/ What are your top three books of all time?
Norwegian Wood, The Catcher in the Rye and Before I go to Sleep. I haven’t read a lot of books despite really enjoying reading but these are the ones I’ve loved the most so far.
9/ If you could have any job, what would it be?
I’d love to own my own business! Maybe be a restaurateur or an art agent. I’m not exactly sure yet but as long as I love what I do then i’ll take that as a win.
Sorry if you’ve already been nominated! Also, obviously you don’t have to do a blog post about it if you don’t want to – I know it can be a bit of a faff to answer and might not go with your blogging style so you won’t be offending me if you don’t answer haha!
Here are my questions to you:
- What are your three favourite films of all time?
- How long have you been blogging for?
- What is your favourite item of clothing that you own?
- Have you ever been abroad? If so where was your favourite destination?
- What is you absolute favourite meal ever?
- Which of your blog posts do you feel is your best? (Link it so I can read them)
- What advice would you give to your younger self?
- Tell me your favourite thing about yourself.
- What is your greatest accomplishment? (since i struggled with my own answer to this one I thought I’d ask it in my own one!)
- Do you have any advice to give to new bloggers?
- What is your favourite hobby outside of blogging?
